Head outdoors and discover pieces of art exhibited on Auckland's waterfront or in the Auckland Domain. These walks are a great way of taking in the sights and appreciating some good art along the way.
Waterfront Sculpture WalkThe waterfront sculpture trail passes through one of Auckland's historic quarters. It complements the views along the foreshore of the Waitemata Harbour. The waterfront offers some of the finest sites for sculpture in the central business district of Auckland city. The area is a continuum of open urban space - a series of plazas linked by a harbourside walk and broad avenues designed for foot traffic. The waterfront sculpture trail is made up of seven works of art. Although not designed from the outset as a sculpture walk, these works complement each other and are a microcosm of the art of public sculpture in New Zealand. Each work represents one of the myriad of forms, themes and styles of work that have characterised New Zealand's art scene over past decades.
