Spoiling your loved one on Valentine's Day doesn't have to cost a fortune

Tuesday February 14, marks Valentine's Day. A day where loved ones spoil each other with gifts and romance. But spoiling your loved one this Valentine's Day doesn't have to cost you a fortune. We have put together three budget friendly Valentine's Day activities. 

Picnic 

The BIG little City is filled with wonderful scenery. We are lucky enough to be situated on a stunning waterfront and have some of the best inner city parks in NZ. So why not make the most of our natural scenery by taking your loved one on a romantic picnic. Head down to Countdown Metro, grab some supplies and take your loved one to one of the following destinations

  • Albert Park
  • Silo Park
  • Auckland Domain
  • Takutai Square
  • St Patricks Square

Dinner

Taking your valentine out to dinner doesn't need to be an expensive affair. Elliott Stables offers some of the best authentic, reasonably priced food in Auckland. Or there are plenty of well priced Japanese eateries such as Kura, Daikoku, Mamak Malaysian Restaurant and Faro. 

Desert

If you would like to make this Valentine's Day slightly more un-conventional then why not take your loved one for desert - they do say chocolate is an aphrodisiac after all. We highly recommend getting a serving of churros from El Faro in Elliott Stables to share with your loved one. Or if you would like to get something sweet to takeaway, Giapo on Queen Street do some of the best ice cream in the BIG little City.
